Third-party licences

SHD Sim is built on open-source software. This page is a licence obligation rather than marketing: where a component is under a copyleft licence we are required to make the corresponding source available, and to tell you your rights in it. We do both.

Solver components
The solvers are separate programs that SHD Sim downloads and runs; it does not link them. Each is fetched as a component, at the version we have tested, and carries its own licence inventory inside the download.

Your rights in the GPL, LGPL and AGPL components
OpenFOAM is licensed to you under the GPL-3.0, not under our EULA. That licence grants you rights we cannot restrict, including the right to obtain, study, modify and redistribute its source code. Nothing in our EULA is intended to limit those rights, and to the extent of any conflict the GPL prevails for that component.
Written offer for source code. The complete corresponding source for the GPL, LGPL and AGPL components we distribute, including any modifications we have made and the scripts used to build and install them, is published alongside each release. If you cannot obtain it there, we will send it to you on request for a period of three years from the date we distributed the binary, for no more than our reasonable cost of physically performing the distribution. Qt and OCCT are dynamically linked as shared libraries, so that you may replace them with your own modified versions as the LGPL requires.
OpenRadioss is licensed to you under the AGPL-3.0. It runs on your own computer as a separate program, and the written offer above covers its source exactly as it covers the GPL components. We do not run OpenRadioss on our servers or offer it as a hosted service.
