In development.
This module is phase 4 on paper — but it needs no new backend. The solver behind it is chosen and its capability is known. SHD Sim is available today.
What it is
A full factorial sweep is exponential in the number of variables and quickly impossible. DoE chooses a sample that covers the space efficiently, so a handful of runs tells you which inputs move the answer and which do not.
What this analysis needs from you
- Parameter ranges rather than discrete values
- A sampling plan and a run count decided up front
- A response metric continuous enough to fit a surface through
Typical uses
- Screening many candidate variables down to the few that matter
- Building a response surface for later optimisation
- Sensitivity ranking before committing to a design direction
- Getting useful information out of a fixed compute budget
Industries
Sectors where this analysis is routinely asked for.
- Product development
- Process engineering
- Automotive
- Aerospace
What comes out
- A space-filling sample of runs
- Variable influence ranking
- Response surfaces
- Fewer runs for the same insight
Backend
native or Dakota
Chosen for this analysis type, with its capability verified against the module plan — not decided later.
Status
Phase 4 on paper — but it needs no new backend. Telling us you need this analysis moves it up the order — modules are sequenced by who is waiting for them.
