What it is
A structure vibrates, the surrounding air responds, and the result is radiated sound. Coupling matters both ways when the fluid is heavy, water especially; in air the structure usually drives and the sound follows. The output is sound power and directivity, not surface velocity.
What this analysis needs from you
- A modal or harmonic structural solution to drive it
- Fluid properties, and a radiation boundary that does not reflect
- A frequency range, and a mesh fine enough for the shortest wavelength in it
