What it is
A projectile against a target, with material failure, erosion and very large deformation. Elements are deleted as they fail, which keeps the calculation running but makes the answer mesh-dependent in ways that need calibration against test rather than trust.

- A failure model with parameters calibrated from ballistic test data
- A very fine mesh in the impact region
- Acceptance that this is the least predictive analysis here without test correlation
