SHD Sim FEA
Geomechanics / soil-structure
Porous media and soil constitutive models
code_aster
In development.
This module is phase 2 — the next module after cfd. The solver behind it is chosen and its capability is known. SHD Sim is available today.
What it is
Soil is not a metal: it is frictional, pressure-dependent, often saturated, and its stiffness depends on the confining stress. Constitutive models like Mohr-Coulomb or Drucker-Prager capture that, and porous-media formulations couple the pore water pressure to the deformation.
What this analysis needs from you
- Soil parameters from a ground investigation — friction angle, cohesion, permeability
- A construction sequence, because soil remembers its stress history
- code_aster
Typical uses
- Foundation settlement and bearing capacity
- Retaining wall and excavation stability
- Buried pipeline and tunnel loading
- Embankment and slope stability
Industries
Sectors where this analysis is routinely asked for.
- Geotechnical engineering
- Mining
- Foundations
- Tunnelling
What comes out
- Settlement predictions
- Slope stability factors
- Earth pressures on structures
- Staged construction response

Status
Phase 2 — the next module after CFD. Telling us you need this analysis moves it up the order — modules are sequenced by who is waiting for them.
